Hello beautiful soul,
I’m Emilie — biologist, 200h Uplifted YTT (soon 500h YTT), somatic coach in training, and mother based in Brussels.
After nearly 15 years in academic and industrial research, life handed me a wake-up call — a blend of early midlife questioning and the profound transformation of becoming a mother. It made me pause and ask myself: Was my career truly fulfilling? Did I still love what I was doing? What was missing for a more joyful and meaningful life?
In that space of doubt, yoga became more than a physical practice. It became a tool for nervous system regulation, embodied awareness, and self-inquiry.
I originally started yoga nearly 10 years ago to improve flexibility and support my at-that-time lifelong athletic and running practice. It took time — and a more scientific lens — to understand what yoga was actually doing:
modulating the autonomic nervous system, down-regulating stress responses, and influencing the body through breath-movement integration.
Today, my mission is simple:
to offer you safe, accessible tools based on yoga and somatic awareness to support nervous system regulation and help reduce chronic stress, pain, and tension linked to modern life.
In 2024, I decided to go deeper and started a yoga teacher training. What I discovered throughout this process is how much I love teaching, translating complex concepts into simple tools, and guiding people toward a more regulated, resilient body–mind. This is how Emilie Etoundi Yoga (notiae studio) was born — merging scientific understanding, somatic principles, yoga-based practices, and the visual language of illustration.
Today, my mission is clear:
to offer evidence-informed, somatic, and accessible practices that support safe movement, nervous system balance, and the reduction of chronic stress, pain, and tension associated with modern life.
Let’s grow older healthy, gracefully, and peacefully — together.
